Ford unveiled technology to charge electric cars from each other

Ford has presented a car with a simple, but very important and interesting function, the so-called technology of charging electric cars from each other will be installed in the F-150 Lightning pickup truck.

The car has an on-board generator and a high-capacity battery for emergency power.

🔹Ford showed a prototype of charging between electric vehicles at the Michigan Auto Show.

🔹The F-150 pickups will have a 240-volt Ford Pro Power outlet, an on-board generator and a high-capacity battery for emergency power.

🔹The system will be able to charge any other electric vehicle, adapters for that will be included. The pickup could also be used for “home energy management and grid balancing.”

🔹The Ford Mobile Power Cord system used in the F-150 Lightning provides Level 2 charging.

🔹Ford unveiled its first F-150 Lightning electric pickup in May 2021. It will go into production in 2022.

The system will be able to charge not only other electric cars, but also the house. The company calls it “home energy management and grid balancing” technology. The F-150 will begin selling in 2022.
