Startup Anthropic raises another round of funding

The field of artificial intelligence continues to dominate the private capital market. Investor interest in this sphere does not even think of subsiding, but rather the opposite, only increases.

Leading company Anthropic, a ChatGPT competitor with its Claude AI assistant, has raised $450 million in Series C funding led by Spark Capital with participation from Google, Salesforce Ventures, Sound Ventures, Zoom Ventures and others.

CEO Dario Amodei said in a release – “We are thrilled to have these leading investors and technology companies supporting Anthropic’s mission: AI research and products that put security at the forefront.”
“The systems we build are designed to provide robust AI services that can positively impact businesses and consumers now and in the future.”

The round came after reports in February that Google had invested $300 million to $400 million in a San Francisco-based startup. In March, reports followed that Anthropic was raising another round of $300 million with a pre-investment valuation of $4.1 billion.

Anthropic itself had previously announced Series A raises of $124 million in 2021 and Series B raises of $580 million in 2022 – led by everyone-famous FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried.
